Lake County Board of Supervisors Approves a Compromise

KPFZ is pleased to report that our request for a reduced rate on tower fees was approved by a 3 – 1 vote of the Lake County Supervisors.  District 3 Supervisor E.J. Crandell, District 1 Supervisor Moke Simon and District 4 Supervisor and Chairwoman Tina Scott voted in favor; District 5 Supervisor Rob Brown opposed; District 2 Supervisor Bruno Sabatier was absent.

Our hope was to receive a reduced rate commensurate with other non-profits who rent or lease property from the County.  We believe KPFZ provides essential, high value services to the Lake County community and argued that point.  Ultimately, we were approved for a reduced rate of $500 monthly, down from $827.

Thank you members and friends for attending the Board meetings on June 4 and June 18, 2019; testifying at those meetings; and for making calls, writing letters and sending emails in support.  We couldn’t have done this without you!
