Roy Zimmerman Benefit Concert for KPFZ on Saturday, January 6, 2018
Submitted by Ellen H on Tue, 12/19/2017 - 12:30pmJoin us for a KPFZ benefit concert by Roy Zimmerman on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. The concert will be at the Weaver Auditorium in the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum.
In over twenty years on stages, screens and airwaves across America, Roy has brought the sting of satire to the struggle for Peace and Justice. His songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime. He has recorded for Warner/Reprise Records. His YouTube videos have garnered over seven million views, and he's a featured blogger for the Huffington Post.
Roy is calling his show "ReZist," bringing laughter and encouragement to progressive-minded people who need a lot of both in the Age of Trump. "Sometimes I think satire is the most hopeful form of expression," says Roy, "because in calling out the world's absurdities and laughing in their face, I'm affirming the real possibility for change."
Tickets are $25 for the general public, $22 for KPFZ members. Purchase tickets at Watershed Books in Lakeport, Catfish Coffee in Clearlake, or at the KPFZ Studio in Lakeport.
Opening for Roy will be KPFZ's own Herb Gura doing standup comedy and members of the Without a Net band.
Remember, the Weaver Auditorium is an intimate venue with limited seating. So don't delay, get your tickets today. The Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum is located at 16435 Main Street in Lower Lake. Hope to see you there!
